This tool calculates the DC resistance of a single rectangular cross-section strip at 20°C for common conducting materials using the following equation:
\[ R = \rho \cdot \frac{L}{A} \]
\( R \) is the resistance in ohms (Ω)
\( \rho \) is the resistivity of the material in ohm-meters (Ω·m) at 20°C
\( L \) is the length of the strip in meters (m)
\( A \) is the cross-sectional area of the strip in square meters (m²)
Simply input the dimensions of the strip and select the material to obtain the resistance value.
Tip: click on the Copper, there are a list of metals that can be calculated: Copper, Aluminum, Gold, Silver, Tungsten, Nickel, Iron, Constantan, Nichrome.
