One of the leading producers in accurate, reliable, and innovative lighting control products asked DRF to support a Printed Circuit Board Design, and prototype development, for one of their new products. When they first contacted us, the first revision of their product was already complete with a 71 mm diameter board. However, some modifications were necessary in order to pass testing. Their previous layout resource was no longer available due to medical reasons, and they needed a new resource with expertise in both KiCAD schematics and layout. We are very familiar with KiCAD, and provide this service at DRF.
The design supported outdoor lighting controls and met the life expectancy of LED fixtures; including wireless communications. The product was also protected against repeated spikes/surges by utilizing a 40,000 amp Metal Oxide Varistor – which can be expected to provide the best protection – whereas smaller Metal Oxide Varistors would not be nearly as effective.
